A graphic panel is one of the components of a central monitoring system. It displays on a large screen the system diagrams and layout diagrams of the power system, air conditioning and ventilation equipment, water supply and drainage equipment, and other equipment installed in automatic control facilities, and displays the equipment operation status and measurement values on the screen.
Installation of the system makes it easy to grasp the equipment system of the entire facility. The map version allows graphical confirmation and understanding of various monitoring alert statuses, equipment operation statuses, and failure occurrence statuses, contributing to quality improvement of facility management.
These panels are also used for tourist information bird's-eye view signboards, 360° panoramic bird's-eye view, and large panels for conference rooms. It is also used for multiple purposes, such as displaying the location of vehicles with lamps in traffic control systems such as railways.
To indicate the alert and monitoring status of a facility, a floor plan of the facility can be inserted into the panel, and the alert status transmitted from various sensors can be controlled by the controller and indicated by lighting and blinking LEDs. The easy-to-read and easy-to-understand display enables early detection of intruders and prompt countermeasures.
Graphic panels are very useful in guiding and explaining facilities to visitors and observers.
When used as a map panel, a simple method of printing directly on an acrylic panel and the engraving method of placing an LED bulb behind an engraved aluminum panel is available. On the other hand, it is more burdensome in terms of cost and delivery date if the screen display needs to be changed.
When specifications change due to an increase in the number of monitoring devices or a change in their location, a new map version must be created to update the screen display, and the internal wiring and rear LED locations must also be changed, which increases costs.
As a countermeasure against such high costs, recently, instead of using handmade panels, a monitoring screen created by software is projected onto a large LCD display, and monitoring is generally performed using a general-purpose internet browser or dedicated application.
