Compressed air is used to peel the cake layer from the filter and scrape it off with a spatula-like object called a scraper. - Roller discharge method
A roller is pressed against the cake layer and removed with a scraper. - Precoat cutting method
The cake layer is removed with a scraper under vacuum without using compressed air, etc. The remaining cake layer that cannot be removed is called the precoat layer, and the cake formed on top of the precoat layer is periodically removed. Since it is performed under vacuum, there is an advantage that backflow of the filtrate does not occur. However, it is not suitable for particles other than uniformly sized particles.
