A pump ring is a type of tube pump.
The advantages of a tube pump are as follows:
However, due to a mechanism that inevitably places a burden on the tube, a longer tube life was expected.
This weakness is compensated for by employing a ring-shaped roller called a pump ring.
Pump rings are widely used for conveying liquids.
Uses of pump rings are varied, as the discharge volume can be selected, and depending on the tubing material, pump rings can also be used for chemical liquids.
Examples of Liquids Used
Applications and Fields of Use
A pump ring consists of a tube that serves as a liquid transport path and a roller that sucks up the liquid.
Tube pumps suck up liquid by squeezing the tube with several small rollers.
First, the tube is mounted along the perimeter of a rotating section consisting of multiple rollers, which rotates an eccentric rotor.
The contact area with the rollers is then sandwiched between the outer wall, and the tube is crushed.
The rollers squeeze the tube from the upstream side in turn, creating a vacuum in the tube and suctioning the liquid.
Because of this mechanism, the burden on the tubes is high, and the disadvantage is that tubes need to be replaced quickly.
To compensate for this disadvantage, a pump ring is used to extend the life of the tubing by reducing the load on the tubing.
When multiple rollers are combined, there is a difference in pain between the contact and non-contact areas with the rollers.
Therefore, a pump ring is a system that uses a single ring with a large diameter to compress the tubing from the upstream side continuously.
By equalizing the load on the tubing, the load on the tubing is reduced compared to conventional ones, resulting in a longer service life.
