Tip Dressers are devices that cut the electrodes of spot welding to restore weldability.
Until now, manual filing has been the mainstream method for grinding electrodes. However, there were problems with worker safety, workload, and quality. A polishing machine that solves these problems is a tip dresser.
Tip Dressers are also useful because it is difficult to reproduce precise tip shapes with ordinary polishing machines.
Tip Dressers are applied to spot welding equipment. Spot welding is used in a very wide range of fields.
In addition to restoring weldability, they can also remove burrs that occur during welding.
Tip Dressers are available in handy and stationary types. The handy type is suitable for simple on-site maintenance. if precision grinding is required, it is preferable to remove the chips and use the stationary type.
The circular part with the polishing parts set rotates at high speed. The tip is applied to it and the polishing proceeds. In addition, a floating unit is used to polish vertically and with high precision. This helps maintain proper angles and reduces stress on tips and dressers.
Some equipment is equipped with a tip discrimination sensor to quickly check for proper polishing.
We also have equipment that can properly pressurize the dresser electrode through programmed pressurization using an electro-pneumatic proportional valve and a multi-function controller. Simple chip shapes, such as A, F, and P types, can be handled by general Tip Dressers.
On the other hand, for complex chip shapes such as E and R types, special models must be selected.
