This section provides an overview for fine thread bolts as well as their applications and principles. Also, please take a look at the list of 10 fine thread bolt manufacturers and their company rankings.

A fine thread bolt (micro screw) is a thin, short, and small size, smaller than M2.6, with a smaller screw head height and outer diameter than a regular micro screw. In general, "micro screw," "miniature screw," and "precision screw" are also used as synonyms.
In this case, "screw" does not refer only to the screw shape, but also to small-sized screw products.
Fine thread bolts are mainly used in precision equipment such as optical equipment, measuring instruments, and cameras for mounting and assembling parts as "cross-holed small screws for precision equipment" (No. 0 small screws).
There are only a few standard products sold for small screws other than No. 0 for sizes smaller than M2, so fine thread bolts (No. 0 screws) are used when the size is smaller than M2.
Even in the case of M2 or larger screws, since the head is usually smaller than that of small screws, they are sometimes used to suppress the protrusion of the screw head.
The cross-hole for inserting a screwdriver or other tool for tightening the screw is small, and a special tool for small precision screws called a No. 0 screwdriver is used to tighten the screw.
Fine thread bolts have size specifications for the height of the head and the size of the cross-hole. There are three sizes: "No. 0 Class 1," "No. 0 Class 2," and "No. 0 Class 3," as well as "No. 00," which is smaller than "No. 0. Type 1", "Type 2", and "Type 3" represent the size and height of the head.
There are two types of fine thread bolts head shapes: "pan head" and "knob head," with the knob head being Type 1, 2, or 3, and the knob head being Type 1 or 3. The size increases in the order of Type 1 to Type 3.
The nominal diameter (screw diameter size) of fine thread bolts ranges from M1.0 to M2.6 (1 mm to 2.6 mm).
Materials used include iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium steel, etc. Resin and brass are also available.
Some screws have nylon welded to the threads to create an anti-loosening effect through friction.
